Development Progress
Development Progress — A Personal Update
I wanted to take a moment to share where things stand with Career Traits—not just the features and timelines, but the real story behind the work.
I started this project on July 6, 2025, with nothing more than an idea and a stubborn belief that understanding your personality should make career decisions easier. A few weeks later, on July 26, I hit reset and rebuilt the architecture from scratch because I knew the foundation needed to be stronger. Since then, progress has been steady, but as a solo developer with a full‑time job, it hasn’t always been fast.
This project is something I care deeply about, and I want to bring you along for the journey—not just the polished releases, but the messy middle too.
What’s Done, What’s Built, and What’s Coming
Launched:
The Big Five personality test is live and already helping people understand themselves a little better.Built (but not yet deployed):
The profile experience and the AI Career Coach are both developed. They’re real, they work, and I’m excited about them—but they still need a bit more polish before I feel good putting them in your hands. In progress right now:
I’m building the product purchase flow and access management. Not glamorous, but essential for a smooth experience.Reality check:
Progress slowed recently. Balancing this project with a demanding full‑time job means I’m often building late at night or early in the morning. It’s not always easy, but I’m still here, still shipping, still committed.
What I’m Focusing on Next
- Deploying the profile experience so you can see a richer, more complete view of your personality data.
- Releasing the AI Career Coach once I’m confident it’s stable, helpful, and ready for real‑world use.
- Finishing the purchase flow so upgrading feels smooth and intuitive.
- Continuing to ship in smaller, consistent releases that fit around the realities of solo development.
Closing Thoughts
Career Traits is very much alive. The personality test is out in the world, the profile and AI coach are built, and the next big milestone is enabling paid access. I wish progress were faster, but I’m proud of what’s been built so far—and I’m grateful for everyone who’s following along, testing features, and cheering from the sidelines.
This project is a long‑term commitment for me. I’m still building. I’m still improving. And I’m excited for what’s coming next.
